KOHIMA GROUP : DD KENDRA KOHIMA & LOK BHAVAN
Eden Higher Secondary School, Dimapur organized an educational exposure tour on 18th April, 2026 for the students of Classes 10 and 12 to enhance their practical knowledge and provide real-world experience. A total of 31 students, along with 6 teacher-in-charges, participated in the tour.
The group first visited Doordarshan Kendra, Kohima, where they were guided by Mrs. Lamneithem Khongsai, Senior Engineering Assistant. Students gained valuable insights into broadcasting systems and were introduced to equipments such as vision mixers, servers and teleprompters. They also explored the indoor studio and learned about the technical aspects of television production.
The next destination was Lok Bhavan (Raj Bhavan). The students attended a briefing session led by Mr. Fiirhesie Nyuwi, NCS Joint Secretary to the Governor, which provided an overview of the functioning and significance of the Governor’s office. This was followed by a guided tour and a high tea session (Lunch).
A highlight of the visit was the interactive session with the Honorable Governor of Nagaland, Shri. Nand Kishore Yadav, where the students, as youths were encouraged to work hard, dream big and contribute meaningfully to society. During the session, the Governor stressed that there is no substitute for hard work and urged students to develop self-confidence to succeed in life. The Governor also advised the youths not to limit their aspirations to government jobs, and instead pursue innovation, entrepreneurship, and creative thinking. He also emphasised that women are equal to men in capability and potential, and called upon every individual to contribute toward the betterment of the state.The Governor underlined the importance of using technology wisely as an asset, focusing on its benefits.
Students had the opportunity to introduce themselves and engage directly with the Governor, making it a memorable and enriching experience. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Bishwajit Debnath.
The educational tour was both informative and inspiring, offering students meaningful exposure to media operations and governance and enriching their learning beyond the classroom.
